FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
+ Does Atlantic Exposure do any staging?
- Sorry, we only do photography. We expect the property to be photo ready at the time of appointment. Agents should arrive early to prepare and make sure there are no surprises that could affect the outcome of the shoot. (Porch furinture in the living room, unmade beds, suprise construction)
-If a property is not photo-ready when we arrive, it will be shot as is or cancelled/rescheduled. Our photographers will not have time to wait for the property to get prepared for the shoot becuase they will have other appointments that day, and waiting could upset our schedule. Last minute reschedules and appointments cancelled less than 24 hours of the scheduled start time incur a cancellation fee of $50 per scheduled service (for "The Works" that means a fee of $150), plus a 5% Credit Card Processing Fee. Cancellations will receive a refund less the fees.
If you are looking for a local Delmarva area staging company, we highly recommend our clients Seaside Home Staging & Design or ReIMAGINATION Design! We also have a convenient Photoshoot Prep Guide with tips to help make sure your property is photo ready!
+ Who owns the rights to the photography Atlantic Exposure delivers?
- All Photos and rights relating to them, including copyright and ownership rights in the media in which the Photos are stored, remain the sole and exclusive property of Atlantic Exposure. Vacation rental and marketing photography shoots each have different licensing agreements and dates of expiration. You will receive a copy of the licensing agreement upon purchase of your service. Only the original client is licensed to use the images, and that license is non-transferable. If the client is a home owner and later decides to hire an agent, that agent would need to re-license the images to use them. Agents may not transfer the license of images to another listing agent without relicense fees. If you have any other questions or would like more information regarding licensing, feel free to contact us!
+ When is the best time to schedule my photography appointment?
- While most appointments are made based on your availability and the availability of the sellers, there are a few times of the day that make for better photographs than others. For waterfront properties, west-facing homes are best photographed in the early afternoon while east-facing homes are best photographed in the morning. North-facing homes are best shot in the early morning before the sun gets too high in the sky. No matter the direction of the home, every home can benefit from being photographed during twilight. If you would like information for a time frame on a specific property, contact us!
+ Will my standard and drone photography be shot at the same time?
- Drone photography is highly dependent on weather, wind, obstructions such as trees or power lines, and FAA regulations. This means there will be situations where your regular photos and aerial photos are NOT taken at the same time. We will always try our best to get our shoots done at the same time, but we do NOT guarantee that standard and aerial photography will be shot together!
+ Can I use Real Estate Photography images for AirBnB?
- To answer simply, no. Our basic real estate photography packages are licensed only for MLS posting. It is best to purchase a Vacation Rental Photography shoot or “The Works” Vacation Rental Photography Package to avoid any misunderstandings. If you or a client have already purchased photos for a real estate marketing shoot and wish to use them for vacation rental marketing, you will need to contact us and purchase a license for vacation rental use.
+ What if the weather is bad the day of my shoot?
- Cloudy day? No worries! Atlantic Exposure knows not every day in the Delmarva area is a picture perfect one and offers FREE sky replacement as needed! Photo appointments can (and should) be rescheduled in the case of heavy rain, snow, or fog, but it is the agent's responsibility to contact the photographer at least two hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Interior photos are generally not affected by poor weather, though some visibility of the views may be obscured. Drone aerial photography is highly dependent on weather as it is unsafe to launch in winds over 10MPH. This means there will be situations where your regular photos and aerial photos are NOT taken at the same time. We will always try our best to get our shoots done at the same time, but we do NOT guarantee that standard and aerial photography will be shot together!
+ Do you offer discounts?
- YES! We run various promotions throughout the year, visit our Specials Page to stay up to date on the latest discounts we have available. We also always reward our clients who refer business to us! Any time a new client tells us you referred them, you receive 15% off one Real Estate Photography Service (Excludes Packages, Stock Photos, and Virtual Staging)! New clients are also eligible to receive $25 off their first Real Estate Photography shoot with the discount code “BESTDECISIONEVER”!
+ When will I receive my photos? What is your turnaround time?
- We know that timing is critical when it comes to selling your property FAST. Atlantic Exposure performs all editing in house and delivers standard photography photos within ONE BUSINESS DAY. Virtual staging, grass replacement, and services that require additional or extensive editing may add on to the time it takes for your photos to be delivered. Your photographer will keep you up to date with expected delivery times.
+ How will I receive my photos?
- Your photos will be delivered digitally through a Dropbox.com link. If you are having issues receiving your photos, be sure to check your junk/spam folder. Some email providers sort emails that are sent automatically through services as junk/spam. We are also able to deliver photos via Google Drive upon request.
+ How long will my real estate photography appointment take?
- It depends on the size of the home and services ordered. A medium sized house getting just photography runs approximately 45 minutes. That same house getting “The Works” for residential properties with a Matterport tour, Drone Aerial photography, and a Zillow 3D tour takes just under two hours. This is why it is important to give us the correct number of rooms and square footage of a property. You will receive an approximate appointment time window in your confirmation email that takes into consideration exactly what photography packages and services you ordered.
+ Do I have to meet you at the home to give access?
- No. As long as instructions for how to gain entry to the property are given to your photographer at the time of scheduling or prior to your appointment, it is not necessary to be on property at the time of your appointment. It is still recommended that a check of a property be completed prior to the photographer’s arrival. For services like Matterport and Zillow 3D tours, it is required for the property to be completely vacant as the cameras scan 360 degrees and can catch warped images of people in the space.
+ Can you do a headshot for my website?
- While we specialize in real estate and architectural photography, we are sometimes able to accommodate headshots. If you are interested in getting headshots, just contact us to discuss availability and arrangements!
+ What is your reschedule and cancellation policy?
- Aside from weather, we will be happy to reschedule any appointments with 48 hours notice. All requests to reschedule or cancel under 24 hours notice except for weather related concerns are subject to a fee of $50 per scheduled service (for "The Works" that means a fee of $150) plus a 5% Credit Card Processing Fee. Please note: The property not being ready for photos is considered a cancellation. Cancellations will receive a refund less the fees.
+ What type of equipment do you use?
- To ensure the best quality photography for our clients, Atlantic Exposure photographers are equipped with the latest DSLR cameras and accessories. Matterport tours are captured using Matterport’s Pro 2 3D camera. Zillow 3D tours are captured using a Ricoh Theta V 360-camera. Atlantic Exposure performs all editing in house in our exposure fusion photography style.
+ Are amenity photos included?
- Amenity photos are not included with our standard photography services. You can add a set of amenity photos to your shoot or visit our stock photography page to purchase amenity photos for many of our local Delmarva communities!
+ Can you edit that mark on the wall, cord, picture, etc. out of my photos?
- Yes! We do our own editing at Atlantic Exposure and are able to accommodate various editing requests for an additional fee. We offer virtual staging, grass replacement, TV screen images, and more!
+ How many photos do you provide?
- There is not a specific number of pictures. We take interior and exterior photos of each area from multiple angles to ensure the best finished product. If your listing has a minimum image requirement, let us know and we will be happy to meet it for you!
+ Do you upload photos to the MLS for me?
- No. It is the agent’s responsibility to upload listing photos to the MLS.
+ Are your twilight photos real?
- Yes, some companies offer twilight conversions of daytime photography, but not Atlantic Exposure! All of our twilight shoots are scheduled during the “golden hour” to capture the best views your property has to offer.
+ What is a Zillow 3D tour?
- Zillow 3D tours places potential buyers directly into your listings on Zillow! Captured using a Ricoh Theta V 360-camera, these virtual walkthrough tours are an interactive way to engage viewers of your listings. Prospective buyers are able to take their time exploring your listings in the comfort of their home! Homes listed with Zillow 3D tours get twice the views than those listed without! More views = Faster sales!
+ What is a Matterport tour?
- Matterport tours are a high quality 3D experience of a property. Matterport tours are similar to Zillow 3D tours as they both are virtual walkthroughs, but they differ in quality of experience and use. Using Matterport’s Pro 2 3D camera, properties are captured in greater detail for a truly immersive tour experience. Matterport tours are able to be posted to multiple listing websites, whereas Zillow 3D Tours are exclusively for Zillow.
